The Collection & Recycling Process

Assured ITD's pickup and recycling process is simple and efficient and follows the steps below. This process ensures all customers receive similar results.

Step 1 - Consultation & Scheduling
A project begins when Assured ITD communicates with you or your personnel to initiate a Statement-of-Work and to set a pickup appointment. In most cases this happens electronically or by a simple phone call. For residential consumers, a Statement-of-Work is not required.

Step 2 - Pickup, Collection, Invoicing & Transport
On arrival, Assured ITD performs a basic evaluation and gathers the selected assets. When onsite data destruction has been requested, the technician removes the data storage component if needed and renders it inoperable prior to exiting your facility or home. All materials are weighed and loaded for transport. Invoicing and payments are tendered immediately.

Step 3 - Asset Disposition Auditing
All components arriving at our facility are entered into Assured's Asset Disposition Assurance Manager (ADAM™) for tracking and inventory. This enables customers to track their disposition and recycling project from a web browser.

Step 4 - Data Destruction & Detagging
All hard drives and information storage devices are removed. DoD-compliant data erasure procedures are conducted. This can include physical destruction, magnetic degausing, low-level formatting and/or drilling. Any and all corporate asset tags are removed.

Step 5 - Recycling/Remarketing Processing
Obsoleted and scrap assets are bundled, and transported to Assured's third-party recycling provider for final processing. Assets being remarketed follow a similar process.

Step 6 - Certificates of Destruction Generated
After notification of destruction, Certificates of Destruction are generated. Copies of these documents are kept on file by Asssured™ ITD, and electronic copies distributed to the customer. These certificates can also be downloaded on-demand through ADAM.
